Bronze Wire .8mm - 20GA, Our new bronze wire is a true bronze alloy of tin and copper. Most "bronze" wire sold is actually an alloy of copper and zinc, which is technically brass and is a different colour from our wire. Brass is a muted yellow colour against the warm rich bronze colour of BRONZclay. Our bronze wire works perfectly with BRONZclay and can be fired in place. It is also ideal for use with BRONZclay™ projects and offers an exciting option for a wide variety of wire-wrapping designs. Sold in 305cm lengths. The melting point for this wire is 1026C. It is dead soft but is stiffer than other metals in the same gauge.
Please note: If soldering your piece and this wire forms part of your design, the flux will deplete the tin. This may cause the piece to appear as if it is copper plated when removed from pickle.
