Sterling Silver 10mm Gallery Wire Bezel Cup Setting (can be embedded in Silver Metal Clay)

This open-back sterling silver bezel cup features a decorative, gallery-wire design. It holds one 10mm round stone or glass cabochon, flat-back stone or crystal. With walls modelled from decorative gallery wire, this bezel cup adds distinctive flair to any design. This easy-to-use bezel cup saves you time and provides clean lines and a professional-looking finish. Use it to create everything from earrings to cuff links to pendants. This bezel cup can be soldered to a finding or design and set as desired.

Alternatively this Gallery wire bezel cup can be fired in place with OneFire Sterling PMC, PMC3 and PMC Flex. This is great news for Metal Clay users who love the look and finish of gallery wire. Metal Clay Teacher/Artist extraordinare Lis-el Crowley uses these open backed sterling gallery bezel cups regularly as an easy and aesthetically pleasing way to set non fireable gemstones. The bezel cups do not become brittle during firing using her method of kiln firing at 800C for an hour. There is no need to depletion gild or to pickle after firing. Any oxidisation can be easily removed by sanding or using the 3M 80 or 400 grit Radial Bristle Discs in a Dremel or similar rotary tool. Using a patina like Liver of Sulphur is another effective and easy way to disguise any oxidisation.

Please Note:
• Bezel cups are manufactured to the size as mentioned above or may be slightly oversized. This happens because the manufacturers know that building up an undersized stone is easier and offers better results than forcing a bezel to accept an overly large stone. Please be aware that, due to stone-cutting tolerances, this cup may not accommodate all like-sized stones.
• IMPORTANT: Sterling silver is an alloy containing metals that react with chemicals found in the air that may produce tarnish; high moisture levels, exposure to sunlight and contaminants such as salt water increase this reaction. Please take steps to protect your sterling findings by keeping them in airtight packages, use tarnish-resistant products (such as tarnish tabs or strips) that absorb harmful chemicals, and store sterling findings in a cool, dry place. Most tarnish is easily removed by polishing with a mild abrasive or soaking in an anti-tarnish solution.
